Why Toronto Homeowners Choose Aluminum Deck Railings

Your deck is an extension of your living space — and the railing is what keeps it safe, beautiful, and code-compliant. Unlike wood or vinyl railings that rot, warp, and fade in Toronto's freeze-thaw cycles, aluminum deck railings are engineered to last decades without any maintenance.

At Aluminum Solutions, we custom-manufacture every deck railing at our Vaughan facility. That means faster turnaround, tighter quality control, and factory-direct pricing — no middleman markup. Deck Railing FAQs

How much do aluminum deck railings cost in Toronto?+
Aluminum deck railings in Toronto typically cost between $65 and $120 per linear foot installed for standard picket styles. Glass insert and privacy panel options range from $95 to $180 per linear foot. A typical 40-foot deck perimeter would cost $2,600 to $7,200 depending on the style chosen.
How long does deck railing installation take?+
Most residential deck railing installations in the GTA take 1–2 days on-site. From initial measurement to final installation, the full process takes 2–4 weeks including custom manufacturing at our Vaughan facility.
Do aluminum deck railings rust?+
No. Aluminum does not rust. Our railings are powder-coated with a durable finish that resists UV, salt, moisture, and Toronto's harsh freeze-thaw cycles. They require zero maintenance — no painting, staining, or sealing.
What is the minimum railing height for a deck in Ontario?+
Under the Ontario Building Code (SB-13), deck railings (guards) must be at least 36 inches (900mm) high for residential properties. If the deck is more than 1.8 metres above grade, the minimum height increases to 42 inches (1,070mm).
Can I replace my wood deck railings with aluminum?+
Yes — this is one of our most common projects. We remove the old wood railings and install new aluminum railings using the existing deck structure. If the existing posts or blocking need upgrading to meet code, we handle that too.
